EUSA London Business Internship Program


SUMMER 2008

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Upgrade your resume, earn AU credits and join the growing number of students, from universities around the country, interning in London. Placements guaranteed in a professional practice internship through EUSA (European Study Abroad and London Placement Limited). The program includes one week of orientation and on-site interviews and six weeks of internship experience.

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS:

Students will be required to have a valid Passport, good for 6 months after they return to the US after their internship. They will also be required to get an entry permit (supplied by EUSA upon receipt of participant's paperwork). This Entry Permit paperwork will be distributed at internship group meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

Open to Juniors & Seniors in the College of Business and those with Business Minors and an ungapped GPA of 2.75 or higher

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM:

This program provides hands-on internship experience in a major business area, for
32 - 40 hours per week. Optional AU courses in London available. All students will work with an AU Faculty supervisor in their major business area along with the program directors - to discuss their progress in their internship.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM:

Courses offered include: Internship credit (3 hours), Directed Study Credit (1-3 hours)

LIVING ARRANGEMENTS/ HOUSING:

Students live in shared flats in the heart of London, in easy walking distance to London Underground, royal parks and essential amenities. Each fully furnished flat has a kitchen with modern cooking facilities, high speed Ethernet connections, phone lines and basic weekly housekeeping.

MEALS:

Students will have kitchens in their apartments but meals are not included in the program fee.

TRANSPORTATION:

Students are within easy walking distance to buses, trains, taxis. Oyster Card for travel on London Underground network for the duration of the program is included in program fee.

PROGRAM COST AND ESTIMATED STUDENT BUDGET:

Program Fee: $7,500

Includes:

  • Housing
  • Orientation, interviews, placement, and basic social programs with EUSA
  • Transportation on London Underground for duration of program
  • Cell phone rental for program (but not time/calls)
Does Not Include:
  • Airfare to destination
  • Meals (Kitchen in shared flat)
  • Passport, VISA (for non US citizens only)
  • Personal expenses, excursions, etc.
Auburn Abroad Fee: $510
  • Required for all AU and Non-AU students on AU Programs. Billed separately on student's Bursar Account
  • Includes Emergency Insurance (but not a substitute for Major Medical)

IMPORTANT PAYMENT AND WITHDRAWAL DATES:

November 1, 2007: Application deadline. Apply early, rolling admission for program. We would love to have you in our program; however, the program will close when full.
November 9, 2007: Information session for all applicants. This gives you a chance to meet other students in the program and get additional information prior to the deposit deadline.
November 30, 2007: $500 deposit due to Bursar.
February 8, 2008: First 1/2 of Program Fee due (Billed through the Bursar in January).
March 2008: EUSA Placement officers conduct Internship Interviews at AU Career Services. Auburn Abroad Package completed and due to AU OIE.
March 7, 2008: Second 1/2 of Program Fee due (Billed through the Bursar in February).
March 7, 2008: Complete EUSA application package due to EUSA
March 15, 2008: Last day to withdraw and receive refund of payments made LESS non-recoverable costs. NO REFUNDS IF WITHDRAW FROM PROGRAM AFTER THIS DATE SINCE EUSA PLACEMENT OFFICERS WILL HAVE STARTED YOUR PLACEMENT SEARCH
